A Texas business administrator with a healthcare-focused MBA from the University of Houston, Paul Generale has held leadership positions with CHRISTUS Health for a quarter century. Since 2015, Paul Generale has been working out of the Dallas suburb of Irving as an executive vice president with this large Southern US healthcare network.
In 2023, CHRISTUS Health welcomed Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in the desert city of Alamogordo, New Mexico. After nearly two years of planning and negotiation, CHRISTUS Health and Gerald Champion signed an agreement on June 30, 2023, which subsequently took effect a day later on July 1.
A Level III trauma hospital, Gerald Champion has been serving the greater Alamogordo area for roughly 75 years. This 98-bed facility provides a broad spectrum of specialized care. All told, the Gerald Champion supports 33 medical and surgical specialties, a cardiac catheterization lab, and interventional radiology services. Gerald Champion CEO Jim Heckert regards the partnership with CHRISTUS Health as a path toward resilience and a way for Gerald Champion to serve its community “well into the future.”
